Amnesty International on 5 December 2024 released a report that concluded that Israel’s actions in Gaza amount to genocide. A six-minute video is HERE. The full 296-page report can be read HERE. It can be read together with the November 2024 report from Human Rights Watch, Hopeless, Starving and Besieged, which can be read HERE. Amnesty’s report follows on from their lengthy report of 2022 that concluded that Israel was practising the international crime of apartheid.
On 7 January 2025 Amnesty International suspended its Israel branch for its rejection of its reports: “We take this action in response to evidence of endemic anti-Palestinian racism within AI Israel, which violates core human rights principles and Amnesty values, an evidence of AI Israel’s mis-alignment with and hostility to Amnesty positions”.
